This post is part of the #EdublogsClub – a group of educators and edtech enthusiasts that blog around a common theme each week. Simply write a post and share it to join in, or sign up to receive email reminders of each new prompt.
Parent. The word has so many connotations in education. Educators not only have to work with parents, but some are parents.
Prompt: Write a post about parents.
Whether it’s working with parents, being an educator-parent, or something about your own parents.
Here are some possible topics to help get you started:
- Write a post about successful parent-teacher conference moments.
- What is the most challenging part of being a parent-educator or do you feel you are an educator-parent?
- Write a post about how your parents have helped you develop yourself as an educator.
- Write a post suggesting ways that parents and teachers can work together to ensure student success.

I am getting so close to being caught up!
I love all the prompts. 🙂
As always, I really enjoyed reading this post! I’m so glad you’re still going with the EdublogsClub.
Parents are so important to a student’s learning.
My post is personal: My mum
I owe where I am today to her
I’ve shared my favorite tip on how to begin all parent meetings here: https://www.theedublogger.com/2017/06/13/parents-edublogsclub-prompt-23/

Just letting everyone know that I’m skipping this particular topic to catch up with #21. It’s not that I don’t have parent interaction stories from my alternative HS teacher days (truly captures “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”) and my MS librarian days (positive parent phone calls from the librarian! but don’t get me started on parent “volunteers” in the library!). In fact, I have lots of both positive & negative stories. It’s just that I don’t think mine will offer any new insights to teachers who have much more parent interaction than I do!

Parents are major factors to consider in every successful educational sector.
