About The Edublogs Awards

The Edublog Awards is a community based incentive that has been running for 5 years on a voluntary basis. The purpose of the Edublog awards is promote and demonstrate the educational values of social softwares.

The best aspects of the Edublog awards is it creates a fabulous resource for educators to use for ideas on how social software is used in different contexts, with a range of different learners; which means we are introduced to new sites that we might not have found if not for the awards process.

This year there are fourteen categories, including best individual blog, best teacher blog, best new blog, best group blog, best new blog, and best resource sharing blog. Nominations are open to anyone and close at the end of November.

Besides the winner badge and respect of your peers, winners of each category will get a years free Edublogs Campus subscription for themselves or their institution worth US$900. Voting for the finalists starts at the beginning of December.

How To Nominate

Nominating your favorite blogs is slightly different this year from previous years.

Here are two steps you must follow to nominate:

  1. Write a post on your blog linking to:
    • The 2008 Nomination page
    • The blogs & sites that you want to nominate – you must link to each blog & site you nominate (otherwise your nominations WON”T count)
  2. Go to the 2008 Nomination contact form and send a link to your nominations post.

Only one nomination is allowed per category however you can nominate a blog (site) for more than one category.

Happy Nominating!

  1. @Ms Martino Sorry for slow response but been pondering the best way. Probably you need to make your homepage a static page rather than a post page. Then that should work. However worth posting the question in the Edublogs forum and asking Dr Mike what he thinks.

  2. I want to apologize upfront–I know this doesn’t have anything to do with the topic, but I would really appreciate an answer to my question. I would like only my “Admin Announcement” categories posts to show on the main page. I would like my other category posts to be shown only when a viewer clicks on the category in the category widget. Is this possible?
